About the Role

The Warehouse Associate's primary function is to retrieve stock to fill customer orders, fulfill and process orders, accept incoming/outgoing shipments, and oversee the general organization of the warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs.
  • Ensure that safe work practices are followed.
  • Select and package products for shipment based on customer orders.
  • Use technology, including smartphones and handheld devices, to sort, scan, and prepare orders.
  • Survey items for possible damage or defects before shipment.
  • Fill customer orders promptly by reviewing order forms.
  • Handle, install, position, and move materials to optimize inventory and meet customer orders.
  • Operate automated, computerized, or robotic picking and packing systems.
  • Attach identification information, including pricing, to products or containers.
  • Compare invoices to items received to ensure that incoming shipments are correct.
  • Requisition merchandise from suppliers based on available space, inventory, or customer demand.
  • Keep products separated, organized, and in good rotation.
  • Follow safety protocols and report problems to mitigate safety issues.
  • Operate various pieces of equipment, such as palletizers, dolly loaders, pallet wrappers, forklifts, and electrical pallet jacks.
  • Utilize a continuous improvement mindset and assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Stock shelves and racks with new or transferred merchandise and maintain products in an organized manner.
  • Dispose of damaged, defective, excess, or obsolete stock items or return them to vendors.
  • Answer customer questions about shipments and deliveries.
  • File receipts and track orders using order fulfillment software.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate various types of materials handling equipment including: Hand trucks, Pallet jacks, Forklifts – Stand-up/Sit-down, Order/Cherry picker.
  • Bendi Forklift experience a plus.
  • Turret Truck experience a plus.
  • Must be comfortable using equipment and elevating to heights ranging from 18ft to 30ft.
  • Must be flexible – OT and weekend are required as needed.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Basic math & computer skills.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude and great work ethic whether they are working with others or working unsupervised.
  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Must be able to stand and/or bend for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination.
