About the Role

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC Technicians to support its fast-growing HVAC business in North America. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting HVAC chillers and commercial products, with factory certification, advancement opportunities, and a strong focus on employee safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service.
  • Make recommendations and provide solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including identifying upselling opportunities.
  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
  • Perform startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and aftermarket services.
  • Repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and screw chiller system components.
  • Collaborate with other local market mechanics.
  • Write and communicate problem, cause, and corrective actions to customers.

Requirements

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team willing to learn and be responsible for startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and aftermarket services.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of practical working experience on Residential and/or ducted products, air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, AHUs or Roof Top ducted units with strong HVAC/ mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and screw chiller system components.
  • Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
  • Enroll in training programs and JCI’s STA for HVAC products and sales quoting.
  • Prioritize safety in all forms.
  • This is a Bargaining Unit Position.

Salary/Compensations

  • $38.15-$46 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
