About the Role

This role is designed for high school students who wish to gain practical experience in a professional work environment. Offers the opportunity to develop valuable workplace skills, explore potential career paths, and contribute to the overall success of the department/program. The work will focus on research projects related to the TraCe and LOMP Centers like running experiments and doing data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations and administrative tasks, including inventory distribution and logging new inventory.
• Participate in team meetings and assist with project coordination, including developing project outlines, timelines, and presenting experimental findings.
• Develop communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills by proposing experimental conditions, executing projects, organizing and analyzing data, and solving experimental set-up problems.
• Maintain confidentiality of lab-specific operations and maintain a lab notebook that does not leave the lab.
• Provide support for special projects as needed, within the scope of training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Enrollment in High School required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Eagerness to learn and gain experience in a professional setting required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team required.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic required.
• Employee must meet all NYS and Federal regulations to work as a minor including working papers (if applicable based on age) upon hire required.
