About the Role
As a Manager, Medicaid Market Research and Competitive Analysis, you will play a critical role in supporting Aetna members and the business by managing the capture (proposal preparedness) and proposal lifecycle. This role directs in-depth market, customer, and competitor research to inform capture strategy and proposal development, impacting success rates on multi-billion-dollar procurements. You will translate complex intelligence into clear, actionable insights to power Aetna Better Health’s Medicaid growth strategy and winning proposal responses. The role collaborates closely with capture leadership, proposal teams, and consultants to ensure research is timely, strategic, and aligned with Aetna’s pursuit of all Medicaid managed care contracts.
Responsibilities
- Curate market intelligence on customer and competitor programs, weaknesses, innovations, and performance.
- Develop actionable insights from market research to inform strategic decision-making and drive customer-centric approaches.
- Collaborate with the Capture Director and business partners to develop documents and tools for assigned opportunities, including research reports and analyses.
- Build and sustain relationships with colleagues across all levels of the organization.
- Design and execute research studies, review market data, and translate findings into actionable market strategies.
- Instruct or coach business partners and/or consultants on strategic concepts, directing market research and analysis.
- Organize and maintain research outputs in SharePoint for accessibility by proposal writers and stakeholders.
- Synthesize research findings into clear reports, presentations, and dashboards for various stakeholders.
- Track project progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Monitor project team progress towards business growth and development goals.
- Work independently based on strategic direction with limited supervision.
- Provide insight, recommendations, and relevant intelligence to proposal team members for content development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Medicaid Managed Care.
- 5+ years of specialized experience in market research, competitive intelligence, or strategic analysis.
- Experience developing competitor analyses and actionable insights.
- Experience creating PowerPoint presentations that transform detailed research into clear, well-organized slides.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with experience managing multiple projects and shifting priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proven project management skills and a track record of meeting milestones in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience translating research into strategic recommendations.
- Experience communicating effectively with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.
