About the Role
Oversee the maintenance and repair of plant packaging machinery, conveyor equipment, and related systems, including the construction and installation of new systems. Support operations by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing packaging equipment. Improve equipment uptime and reliability through effective preventive and corrective maintenance, supporting production, quality, and cost-efficiency goals.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments, following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.
- Ensure associates follow all cGMPs and safety policies.
- Manage associate productivity regarding timeliness in diagnosing and completing maintenance and repairs.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize machine breakdowns.
- Participate in planning and scheduling construction work by plant associates or outside contractors, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
- Supervise the team to ensure effective and efficient set-ups, changeovers, PMs, repairs, training, and other tasks.
- Coordinate equipment installation as needed.
- Inspect equipment to prevent downtime.
- Coach and develop subordinates, maintaining morale and discipline, and initiating corrective actions when required.
- Ensure maintenance materials inventory is accurate and available, and evaluate equipment parts for inventory.
- Provide daily work assignments to maintenance team members.
- Manage daily goal setting to achieve maximum machine uptime and productivity.
- Issue and monitor PO’s to vendors for parts and services.
- Ensure the team adheres to government regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and FDA.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must comply with GMP requirements.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
- Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment.
- Must be able to successfully clear drug screening processes, which include testing for all illegal substances per Federal Guidelines.
