About the Role

The Associate Manager provides daily accounting support for the Fund Team, overseeing all aspects of client financial reporting. This role involves managing daily team activities, supervising staff to ensure timely and accurate work completion, and requires regular interaction with clients and team members. The position demands mastery of complex private equity accounting, oversight of financial reporting and capital call/distribution processes, and direct supervision of accounting staff. The Associate Manager will serve as a key resource for guidance, training, and support to both the team and Senior Management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of quarterly financial statements to Limited Partners.
  • Oversee the preparation of schedules supporting general ledger balances.
  • Calculate, prepare, and distribute capital call notices to Limited Partners.
  • Understand and interpret Limited Partnership Agreements.
  • Calculate and review complex waterfall structures.
  • Complete required regulatory forms.
  • Calculate and distribute proceeds to Limited Partners.
  • Communicate directly with General Partners and respond to their requests.
  • Review investment packages to confirm wiring accuracy.
  • Calculate management fees owed to the Management Company.
  • Interact with auditors and provide necessary support.
  • Complete audit confirmations.
  • Multi-task between different tasks, client deliverables, and internal demands.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and coaching to the team, including training support.
  • Continually update job knowledge through educational opportunities, trainings, and professional development.
  • Demonstrate mastery of technical skills, including Excel and other Fund Team software.
  • Demonstrate subject matter mastery when advising clients.
  • Serve as a resource for other team members regarding technical questions and team processes.
  • Conduct ongoing team trainings and provide input on global training opportunities.
  • Provide daily leadership across the team and organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task between different tasks, clients, and internal demands.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple team and individual priorities and deadlines.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, methods, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand clients’ businesses and maintain strong relationships.
  • Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professional performance.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, assisting in coordinating team members' work.
  • Advanced computer and technical skills, including MS Office Suite and other financial systems.
  • Ability to effectively provide information, training, and assistance to team members.
  • Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex accounting procedures and analysis.
  • Preparation of work papers.
  • General knowledge of financial reporting.
  • Sound research, interpretive, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively through written and oral communication.

Experience Level

  • 0 - 2+ years’ supervisory experience in performance management, training, talent acquisition and retention

Education Level

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA or MSA) in Accounting or related field strongly preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is strongly preferred
