About the Role

This position is ideal for an individual with a strong interest in hotel operations and a desire to develop a career in hospitality management. It involves a multitude of customer service tasks while consistently providing exceptional service to guests and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, goal setting, and day-to-day operations of the Front Office Department, including Front Desk, Ideal Service Agents, Bell Services, Door, and Concierge.
  • Implementing company programs and managing Front Desk operations to ensure compliance with LSOPs and SOPs and optimal service quality.
  • Ensuring all arriving and departing guests are treated with courtesy and served expeditiously.
  • Maintaining liaison with management, reservations, and housekeeping to ensure guest expectations are exceeded.
  • Identifying potential problems and service malfunctions and making on-the-spot corrections.
  • Participating in developing plans for special services to targeted markets.
  • Completing AM/PM overnight manager’s checklist and other assigned tasks.
  • Resolving customer complaints and anticipating problems by monitoring feedback and performance to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Liaising with the sales team to implement sales strategies for improved occupancy, revenue, and upselling.
  • Managing room inventory, including strategic planning, upselling, and blocking rooms.
  • Developing and implementing fire safety plans and coordinating evacuation drills.
  • Ensuring compliance with Omni Standards for fire safety.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent, preferably in a hospitality management program.
  • 2-3 years of experience in hotel operations with interest in other departments.
  • Previous experience as a Guest Service Manager.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for telephone, email, radio, and reporting.
  • Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Opera, Birchstreet, and/or Synergy is preferred.
  • Ability to achieve positive guest relations and maximize satisfaction.
  • Ability to handle cash and credit transactions.
  • Ability to enforce company policies and SOPs.
  • Ability to maintain 4-Diamond level cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to work with management on special projects.
  • Previous experience in health & safety.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
  • Smart Serve certification is preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
