About the Role

J.P. Morgan Personal Investing is seeking a Head of Production Management to lead and evolve production operations, taking accountability for the stability, resilience, and risk posture of production and disaster recovery environments. This role involves defining and governing production management standards, driving operational consistency, and enabling engineering teams to run services with confidence in a you-build-it-you-run-it culture. The goal is to foster a mature run-the-bank culture and elevate operational maturity to match growth ambitions.

Responsibilities

  • Build, fund, and lead a high-performing production management function, including hiring budgets, headcount forecasting, and team structure.
  • Define and drive the production management strategy, setting standards, frameworks, and governance for engineering teams.
  • Scale multi-department strategy for AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation to drive firmwide objectives.
  • Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations leaders to embed production management disciplines into team ways of working.
  • Foster a mature run-the-bank culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Enable cross-functional alignment through clear production standards, effective runbooks, and operational roadmaps.
  • Own the production risk posture, ensuring controlled change, rapid incident recovery, and scalable capacity.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Controls to ensure alignment with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Own incident management strategy, escalation frameworks, and post-incident reviews.
  • Supervise and govern change management processes to minimize disruption and protect environment integrity.
  • Drive adoption of AI-powered solutions and intelligent automation for efficiency.
  • Champion an automation-first, shift-left SRE culture leveraging shared tooling.
  • Oversee capacity management and planning to meet current and future demand.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow production management professionals.
  • Drive a continuous improvement loop from production incident data into lower environment practices.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and third-party service management within production operations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in production management, site reliability engineering, or IT operations, with 5+ years in senior leadership.
  • Strong product and business mindset with experience supporting consumer-facing digital platforms in financial services, fintech, or regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and scaling agentic AI-enabled development patterns across teams/functions.
  • Experience leading multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models.
  • Deep understanding of responsible AI risk, controls, and resiliency/security expectations at scale.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use and control expectations at scale.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong technical background in modern production environments including cloud-native infrastructure, observability, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
  • Proven track record defining and governing production management standards across multiple engineering teams.
  • Composure, decisiveness, and authority during incidents, vendor failure, or regulatory escalation.
  • Strategic vision — translates complex problems into compelling, executable multi-year roadmaps.
  • Transformation leadership — leads operating model redesign and capability uplift.
  • Experience leveraging AI-driven solutions to reduce manual intervention and accelerate incident resolution.
  • Experience managing strategic vendor relationships and third-party service providers.
  • Excellent coaching, feedback, and talent development skills.
