About the Role
Azurity Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Head of Marketing to lead the US brand strategy and launch for D-PLEX100, a surgical anti-infective. This role is responsible for brand strategy, positioning, launch planning, and execution within the hospital and surgical setting, reporting to the VP, NA Commercial Brand Executive for ARGO. The position leads a small brand team, directs external agencies, and collaborates with various departments to bring a reimbursement-dependent hospital product to market.
Responsibilities
- Own US brand strategy for D-PLEX100, including positioning, value proposition, messaging, and the integrated marketing plan.
- Develop and execute the launch and in-line marketing plan for the hospital and surgical setting.
- Monitor brand performance, KPIs, and market dynamics to optimize strategy.
- Commission and interpret market research to inform brand strategy.
- Build the account-level adoption strategy for a P&T-governed product.
- Partner with Market Access/HEOR and Contracting to align the brand on pricing and reimbursement dynamics.
- Equip field and account teams to engage key stakeholders with a consistent institutional value story.
- Lead cross-functional US launch readiness for D-PLEX100 and subsequent indications.
- Build US launch timelines, field execution strategy, and training and promotional materials.
- Ensure demand generation and access readiness are sequenced together.
- Partner with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and external agencies to deliver compliant content.
- Manage D-PLEX100 across its lifecycle stages, prioritizing and allocating budget.
- Support indication-expansion planning by developing positioning and demand-generation strategy.
- Assess the competitive and standard-of-care landscape and revise strategy accordingly.
- Work with sales training, commercial partners, and medical and legal teams to develop and implement commercial training.
- Hire, develop, and lead two direct reports, setting objectives and building marketing capability.
- Provide day-to-day direction and coaching, manage performance, and ensure team delivers compliant execution.
- Serve as the key liaison between marketing and the hospital field force.
- Engage surgeon and pharmacy KOLs and institutional decision-makers to gather insight.
- Collaborate with external partners, agencies, and vendors to develop omnichannel campaigns.
- Coordinate with the licensor/alliance interface on brand-relevant deliverables and evidence needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- 6+ years of US in-line marketing and launch experience.
- Experience marketing DRG-reimbursed inpatient or hospital-administered products where institutional P&T / formulary access governs adoption.
- Prior people-management experience, with a track record of hiring, developing, and leading marketing talent.
- Proven ownership of brand strategy and launch for one or more products.
- Proven ability to manage multiple brands or indications simultaneously in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
- Experience partnering with Market Access/HEOR, Medical Affairs, Sales, and Regulatory.
- Willingness to travel ~20–30%.
