About the Role

This role provides high visibility at the street level, carrying out a wide variety of tasks to improve the overall appearance of the assigned service district.

Responsibilities

  • Circulate through assigned work zone with a rolling can containing supplies and tools to remove litter, fast food bags, cups, containers, cigarette butts, and other debris on sidewalks, street gutters, and alleys.
  • Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, and other public infrastructure.
  • Pull isolated weeds from tree wells, sidewalk cracks, and vacant lots.
  • Damp wipe and straighten horizontal surfaces such as trash can lids and news boxes.
  • Observe and report unwanted behaviors or criminal activity to Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios, articulating accurate descriptions of persons, vehicles, and other identifiers.
  • Actively acknowledge pedestrians with a friendly greeting or identify visitors to provide directions, information, city information, or recommendations.
  • Provide written reports of broken infrastructure and graffiti on private property.
  • Provide a basic daily report of accomplishments and tasks completed using a smartphone.
  • Maintain a positive, professional environment in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and company standards.

Requirements

  • Must have the physical capacity to walk or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language to create basic reports.

Skills

  • Janitorial skills preferred
  • Hospitality skills required
  • Ability to articulate an accurate description of persons, vehicles, and other similar identifiers.
  • Ability to work a cell phone.
