About the Role

We are looking for a Loans Underwriter to work in a fast-paced non-profit environment, making a difference to clients by assessing personal loan applications and ensuring responsible and affordable lending. This role offers the opportunity to learn from skilled underwriters and work in a social business focused on client well-being.

Responsibilities

• Make lending decisions and underwrite loans.
• Review financial information and documents against company policies.
• Discuss financial situations with clients to ensure fair and responsible lending.
• Make recommendations or direct lending decisions based on training and experience.
• Work towards achieving business targets for quantity, quality, and compliance.
• Provide clients with prompt and clear information about their applications.
• Support clients in completing their applications.
• Ensure all loan decisions comply with responsible lending criteria.
• Stay updated with changing policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required by the Company.

Requirements

• High attention to detail.
• Demonstrate accountability, diligence, and integrity.
• High level of computer literacy.
• Ability to work across several systems.
• No previous experience necessary; training will be provided.

• £28,860.00 per annum
