About the Role
We are looking for a Loans Underwriter to work in a fast-paced non-profit environment, making a difference to clients by assessing personal loan applications and ensuring responsible and affordable lending. This role offers the opportunity to learn from skilled underwriters and work in a social business focused on client well-being.
Responsibilities
- Make lending decisions and underwrite loans.
- Review financial information and documents against company policies.
- Discuss financial situations with clients to ensure fair and responsible lending.
- Make recommendations or direct lending decisions based on training and experience.
- Work towards achieving business targets for quantity, quality, and compliance.
- Provide clients with prompt and clear information about their applications.
- Support clients in completing their applications.
- Ensure all loan decisions comply with responsible lending criteria.
- Stay updated with changing policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required by the Company.
Requirements
- High attention to detail.
- Demonstrate accountability, diligence, and integrity.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Ability to work across several systems.
- No previous experience necessary; training will be provided.
- Applications from candidates with experience in underwriting, loan administration, or client management are welcome.

- £28,860.00 per annum
