About the Role

SRI is looking for compassionate health care providers to offer in-home assistance for a special needs family member. You will support health, safety, behavioral, nutritional, and recreational needs for military families.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills including bathing, feeding, toileting, lifting/positioning, and dressing.
• Provide supervision to ensure the safety of the special needs family member.
• Interact positively and communicate effectively with the special needs family member, family members, and staff.
• Prepare written reports and documentation of the assigned family member’s needs and irregularities.

Requirements

• A combination of post-secondary education and/or training and experience in nursing and/or early childhood education, special education, elementary education, or relevant field of study.
• Related associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Designation as LPN or related certifications desirable.
• Minimum of two years’ experience working with special needs children, youth or adults.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study such as early childhood education, special education, and elementary education (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
• Designation as RN or related certifications is desirable.
• A combination of technical knowledge/experience working with chronic conditions that require extensive family involvement in care giving.
• Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience working with special needs children, youth or adults.
