About the Role

The IT Support Engineer will work between Manhattan and Jackson Heights locations, fielding requests to resolve computer software and hardware problems. This role involves traveling to various APICHA facilities and remote locations, providing technical support for users, and maintaining IT inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve simple and complex computer software and hardware problems.
  • Travel to all current and planned APICHA facilities and remote locations as needed.
  • Answer user inquiries regarding setup and use of specific software.
  • Provide technical printer support.
  • Address word processing, e-mail, and operating system issues.
  • Contact software and hardware product support vendors for issue resolution.
  • Provide 1st and 2nd level support for PCs, Printers, Local Area Network, applications, and data communication devices.
  • Record all support tickets in the designated tracking system.
  • Maintain and be responsible for IT Inventory.
  • Create and manage user accounts for various systems.
  • Build out and distribute Desktop and Laptop PCs.
  • Learn basic data reporting and analysis using tools such as SQL Manager and Excel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with substantial computer software and hardware knowledge required.
  • One year of paid full-time work experience.
  • Working knowledge of security and privacy concepts required.
  • Technologically savvy with working knowledge of operating systems and office software and hardware required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English required.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues in a timely fashion, assessing the impact of interrelated systems independently.
  • Ability to create electronic presentations and basic statistical graphics as necessary.
  • Ability to work in a diverse cultural healthcare environment in a professional manner.
  • Good attention to detail required.
  • Ability to initiate and work independently and be a good team player.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs on a regular basis and 50 lbs as needed.
  • Willing to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
