About the Role

The Safety Case Coordinator will assist the Building Safety Case Manager in developing, managing, and maintaining safety information for higher-risk buildings as required by the Building Safety Act 2022. This role involves managing the existing Golden Thread of information, sourcing additional data, identifying information gaps, and coordinating surveys to ensure effective management of fire and structural safety hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate safety information to form the Safety Case and inform the Safety Case Report.
  • Continuously review the Golden Thread of Information and other building safety data.
  • Register all buildings in scope of the Building Safety Act 2022 with the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Coordinate the submission of the Building Assessment Certificate application.
  • Ensure actions attached to the Building Assessment Certificate are addressed.
  • Assist in maintaining effective scrutiny of the building safety regime.
  • Draft reports as required.
  • Undertake regular CPD.
  • Perform any other duties requested to satisfy the role.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate necessary competency, having or working towards an appropriate professional qualification (e.g., IFE, CIOB, RICS, CIH, NEBOSH Gen or Fire Cert, or similar equivalent).
  • Previous experience in facilities management, housing, asset management, data analytics, compliance, construction, health and safety, or building maintenance is ideal.
  • Strong data management and interpersonal skills.
  • Pragmatic and reasonable approach to fire and structural safety issues.
  • Some knowledge of key fire and building safety guidance.
  • Willingness to develop a greater understanding of building safety legislation and guidance.
  • Ability to carry out research and consult relevant guidance.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of seeking support from colleagues when required.
  • Understanding of service and maintenance requirements for key fire safety equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, approachable, and able to form effective professional relationships.
  • Experience and ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office software.
