About the Role

The Per-Diem Chaplain addresses the spiritual, religious, cultural, and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff within the Department of Spiritual Care and Education. This role involves on-call coverage, primarily on weeknights, with potential for weekend and holiday duties. The position serves the Manhattan hospitals within the Mount Sinai Health System and is primarily remote, with initial responses by phone and in-person support as needed.

Responsibilities

Addressing the spiritual, religious, cultural, and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff.
On-call coverage, primarily on weeknights, at least once weekly, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. the following morning.
Providing initial responses by phone and in-person support as needed.
Fostering collaborative relationships with interdisciplinary care teams.
Contributing to the well-being of the Mount Sinai community.

Requirements

Must reside within one hour of The Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai West, and Mount Sinai Morningside.
