About the Role

The HVDC product line within High Voltage Power business is looking for a motivated, results-minded engineer to become part of our team as a Product Engineer. This team drives the qualification of GaN FETs and Si gate driver devices going into data center markets with significant growth potential. In this role you will have key responsibilities in new product development from KO to RTM and beyond. When you join our team you will be working on cutting edge technology and be laying the foundations for innovation in GaN across TI and the broader market. The ideal candidate will have a background that includes qualification execution, preferably in high voltage power devices. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a growing team and make an impact in emerging GaN markets.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and work in a team environment with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Packaging and Reliability in all aspects of new product development to accomplish project goals and objectives.
  • Align with the QRE team to generate die and package qualification plans for Automotive, Industrial, and Commercial devices.
  • Own and drive execution of the product qualification plan, including development milestones, risk assessment and mitigation, review qual and test plans, data analysis, documentation, manufacturing approval, and product release.
  • Perform qualification hardware design for stresses such as dynamic HTOL, Biased HAST and Power Temp Cycle including pattern generation and measurements.
  • Submit and guide failure analysis (FA) to determine root cause of any reliability and qualification failures.
  • Drive activities for cost reduction, capacity expansion, and quality enhancement, including manufacturing platform simplifications, and process/package/test optimization.
  • Manage production escalation with engineers at the factory, assess risk, and make disposition decisions on production material with Manufacturing and Quality teams.
  • Interact with PPIT partners to define, co-develop and release new technologies as part of GaN roadmap products.
  • Apply proven problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 4C, failure analysis, experimental design, statistical analysis, and bench testing to resolve yield and quality issues.
  • Analyze customer returns and drive meetings to find the root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Document gaps, lessons learned, and best practices back to NPDE PE teams for better execution on future projects.
