About the Role
The Manager, Marketing, Stewardship, and Events manages all communication initiatives in Penn Abroad, including events aimed at increasing student awareness of and participation in global opportunities. This role oversees departmental websites and social media, produces promotional materials, and plans and executes high-priority events. The position leads student outreach and retention strategy, using data to inform engagement campaigns and advising initiatives. It also supports donor stewardship by developing compelling narratives and communicating program impact, serving as a strategic partner to leadership in advancing institutional priorities.
Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery and evolution of a comprehensive marketing and outreach strategy, including the creation of promotional materials and content.
- Plan, manage and execute high priority events as agreed in the marketing and outreach strategy, including the Penn Abroad Fair, and other events central to the mission of Penn Global.
- Manage Penn Abroad's online platforms, including the Penn Abroad website and all social media.
- Manage the in-office student experience including oversight of the visitor experience.
- Supervise and support the continual development of the Front Desk Receptionist, and supervise one student worker.
- Lead the development and execution of a data-informed student outreach, engagement, and retention strategy, leveraging Penn Abroad technology platforms to identify opportunities for targeted student engagement.
- Serve as a key liaison to the Penn Global Major Gifts Officer to advance Penn Abroad’s mission through grant stewardship and donor engagement.
- Support the development of compelling narratives for prospective donors and work with the Penn Abroad team to effectively communicate program impact and student outcomes.
- Partner closely with the Executive Director and Penn Abroad Leadership Team to develop and implement Penn Forward priorities related to global education, aligning communications, student engagement, and strategic initiatives with University-wide goals.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Experience with social media management, web design, and event planning is required.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, video editing, and/or donor stewardship strongly preferred.
- Experience in higher education administration, or a related field, also strongly preferred.
