About the Role
This 6-month training program is designed for experienced Light Vehicle Mechanics to transition into a career as an HGV Technician. It offers hands-on workshop experience and expert tuition at a dedicated in-house training facility, with one week per month spent at the training center, including paid travel and accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Carry out inspections, MOT preparation, diagnostic work, and fault finding on trucks and buses.
- Perform repairs on engines, gearboxes, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Learn to use Volvo’s in-house systems.
- Complete paperwork such as job cards and service sheets.
- Learn to work to Volvo Service Times.
Requirements
- City and Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent, in Light Vehicle Repair and Maintenance.
- Light vehicle experience – proven work experience on cars, vans, plant or motorbikes.
- IT literate.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience as a LGV Technician/Vehicle Technician/Plant Mechanics.

Salary/Compensations
- Up to £17 per hour whilst training
- £1000 signing bonus payable after 6 months service
