About the Role
Mears is seeking an organised and proactive Planner to join their local repairs team. This role is vital for efficiently scheduling repairs, allocating work to operatives, and ensuring jobs are completed quickly and to a high standard. The Planner acts as the key link between residents, operatives, and colleagues, contributing to a customer-focused, responsive repairs service.
Responsibilities
- Schedule operatives and subcontractors for effective resource utilization and timely repairs.
- Monitor and update repair jobs daily, including appointments, follow-on works, and overdue tasks.
- Support IT system usage, ensuring operatives update PDAs and schedule of rates are entered correctly.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, operatives, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with administrators, supervisors, and contractors for a seamless service.
- Provide cover for other planners and attend meetings or training sessions as required.
- Adhere to company policies and Health & Safety requirements.
- Assist with reporting and performance monitoring to meet KPIs and targets.
- Prioritize emergency and urgent jobs to minimize resident disruption.
- Maintain accurate records, data, and documentation for audits and compliance.
- Support continuous service improvements by suggesting planning and scheduling enhancements.
- Provide general administrative support to the repairs team.
Requirements
- Experience in a similar role with comparable duties.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, pressurized environment.
- Ability to handle challenging situations.
- Candidates must have the entitlement to work within the UK.
- All roles are subject to relevant Background, Identity & Security checks.
Skills
- Strong IT skills with the ability to use job management and scheduling systems.
- Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills.
- A customer-first approach.
- Knowledge of repairs and maintenance processes.
- Experience scheduling and planning multi-trade repairs using an ICT appointing tool.
