About the Role

The Design & Project Management (D&PM) Unit within the Real Estate Services (RES) division of DCAS is seeking a Senior Project Manager. This role is responsible for managing projects in leased space, developing and supervising plans, designs, and technical drawings to ensure compliance with codes, industry standards, and City regulations. The position also involves performing project contract and general administration duties, including managing stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure programming questionnaire and analysis sheets are accurately completed and within timeframes.
  • Provide feedback to client agencies on efficient office space programming and flexible space planning strategies.
  • Ensure site evaluations are accurately completed and proposed architectural base building work is included.
  • Develop initial project schedules with team input.
  • Confirm project budgeting and secure all financial approvals.
  • Write or review/comment on Tenant Representative Scopes of Work and incorporate them into transactions if required.
  • Review preliminary plans, construction documents, and furniture manifests for compliance with program and design intent.
  • Develop preliminary plans, base drawings, or other necessary drawings to illustrate space planning design concepts if required.
  • Develop construction documents and select finishes/furniture for in-house expense projects if required.
  • Identify spaces requiring measurement and confirm spatial scope for D&PM sign-off.
  • Manage construction projects through Substantial Completion, check field conditions, and coordinate timely project completion.
  • Develop, supervise, and review plans, designs, and technical drawings to ensure compliance with code, industry, and City standards, tailored to client agency programmatic requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be permanent in the title of Architect, or reachable via open competitive list call.
  • Possess a valid New York State Registration as an Architect.
  • Maintain current New York State Registration as an Architect throughout employment.
  • For Assignment Levels II and III, possess at least one year within the last three years of experience as a major contributor or project leader on a complex project requiring additional and specific expertise in the disciplines needed to design or construct the project.
