About the Role

The Medical Assistance Program (MAP) is seeking a Field Monitor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the New York Medicaid CHOICE Program in New York City, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct unannounced field visits to designated sites four days per week to observe presentations and ensure contract compliance.
  • Conduct on-site monitoring of Community Based Organization activity related to Maximus.
  • Communicate identified problems and issues to service providers for resolution.
  • Monitor presentations for key messages regarding managed care, plan selection, emergency services, and member rights.
  • Ensure Medicaid beneficiaries are informed of available plan choices.
  • Ensure Medicaid beneficiaries are referred to the toll-free helpline for assistance.
  • Monitor overall presentation quality, including counselor professionalism and form collection.
  • Report gross violations of the Maximus Quality Assurance Plan to Central Office within 24 hours.
  • Monitor Maximus Helpline performance and assist with monthly audits.

Requirements

  • Applicant must be permanent in Caseworker civil service title.
  • This is a lateral transfer, no-cost action.
  • State Central Register screening will be conducted prior to considering a candidate for employment as a Caseworker.
  • Candidates who have been the subject of an indicated child abuse and maltreatment report will not be assigned to any position which requires child-care responsibilities.
  • Employees who have been the subject of such a report may be reassigned or terminated from employment from their positions as Caseworker.
