About the Role

The Bureau of Engineering Design & Construction (BEDC) is seeking a Sustainability Analyst 1 to support the sustainability program. This role will ensure consistency in designing deliverables across all capital programs to support DEP operating bureaus’ capital construction requirements, aligning with BEDC’s Core values. The position supports the implementation of City-wide sustainability objectives by developing Bureau-specific standards and ensuring sustainable infrastructure investments.

Responsibilities

Monitor regulatory changes.
Track project key performance indicators.
Provide support services to Engineering project teams.
Conduct data analysis.
Conduct workshops and presentations.
Coordinate with internal and external entities.
Facilitate LEED and Envision project certifications.
Assist in developing Bureau specific standards.
Ensure sustainable infrastructure investments by balancing social, environmental, and economic impacts.

Requirements

A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health.
A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization.
A master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization.
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to a doctorate degree with specialization and one year of experience or a master's degree with three years of experience.
All candidates must have at least a master's degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience.
Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required.

The sustainability program ensures sustainable infrastructure investments by monitoring regulatory changes, tracking project key performance indicators and providing support services to Engineering project teams.
