About the Role

As a Java Developer at Hubject, you will design, develop, and maintain software solutions for the eRoaming platform and charging services, contributing to scalable backend systems and ensuring their operational stability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable Java-based applications and microservices for the global automotive and eMobility sector.
  • Write clean, secure, well-tested, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices and design patterns.
  • Take full ownership of features and components, driving their implementation independently from development through delivery.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture decisions to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • Ensure the reliability, performance, and timely delivery of global systems while continuously improving existing applications through monitoring, optimization, updates, security patches, and troubleshooting production issues.
  • Support operational excellence through proactive monitoring, incident response, and root-cause analysis to maintain platform stability.
  • Contribute to the team's success with an entrepreneurial mindset, flexibility in solving technical challenges, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences.

Requirements

  • At least 4+ years of professional experience in Java development, with a strong track record of building and maintaining complex, scalable software systems.
  • Solid knowledge of Java, Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, relational databases, and microservice architectures.
  • Experience in cloud-native development on AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
  • Experience with automated testing and modern DevOps practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing (e.g., JUnit, Mockito) as well as CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good understanding of secure coding practices and application security principles, including OWASP, authentication/authorization, and data protection.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional, matrix organizations and partner closely with product and business stakeholders.
  • A goal-oriented, structured, and detail-focused mindset, with a strong sense of ownership and a passion for teamwork.
  • Openness to international collaboration, new technologies, and eMobility.
  • Fluent English skills required.
