About the Role

ASI is building a talent pool for our growing portfolio of programmes and bids, seeking professionals with experience or interest in Education, Governance, and Conflict, Security & Stability.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Directors in the successful management of projects to terms of reference, time, quality, cost and donor and Government satisfaction.
  • Manage financial and budget aspects, client invoicing, and financial forecasting.
  • Oversee operations management.
  • Handle HR management and recruitment.
  • Manage implementing partners.
  • Prepare financial and narrative programme reports.
  • Monitor project deliverables and workplan execution.
  • Manage project teams.
  • Address risks and issues.
  • Coordinate event logistics and management.
  • Build strong working relationships with project associates.
  • Support Project Directors in managing day-to-day client relations.
  • Ensure in-country operations are compliant and meet ASI’s Duty of Care obligations.
  • Support in-country platform staff in meeting ASI corporate standards.
  • Research business development opportunities and help develop a pipeline of security and justice opportunities.
  • Take on ad hoc roles in technical and commercial proposals and be a member of bid teams.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in international development, international relations, political science, economics or other relevant fields.
  • Demonstrable interest and experience, 2-5 years, in one of the technical areas of the Governance and Stability team.
  • Demonstrated experience of initiative, planning and organisation skills, results-focus and working in complex and time-pressured contexts.
  • Outstanding written English and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and team-work.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to fragile and conflict affected environments.
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility along with a willingness to travel at short notice and work in developing countries.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with clients from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work effectively in politically sensitive and challenging environments.
  • Ability to quickly master the technical background of programmes.
  • Ability to manage teams of experienced professionals.
  • Ability to gain the respect and trust of senior military personnel.
  • A calm and level-headed approach to dealing with issues that arise during programme implementation.
  • Pre-existing right to work in the UK.
