About the Role

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team, focusing on receiving, preparing, and merchandising fresh and processed meats. This role is crucial for maintaining department standards and ensuring member satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Receive, rotate, cut, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats.
• Assist in merchandising seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses.
• Assist in the rotisserie chicken area and full-service deli.
• Prepare special meat arrangements for members.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards within the meat department.
• Engage and assist members by making recommendations and answering questions.
• Cut, grind, and process fresh meats to company standards.
• Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Ensure the meat case showcases all available products and maintains adequate inventory.
• Keep meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese cases fully stocked.
• Rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Dispose of damaged and/or expired products according to guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department.
• Inspect and store meat upon delivery, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments.
• Ensure regular, predictable, full attendance.

Requirements

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• At least 18 years of age.

Skills

• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT, is recognized.
