About the Role

Responsible for supporting the Asset Protection Supervisor in maintaining workflow and count processes. This role involves operating a forklift, collaborating with inventory control team members, and ensuring an exceptional member shopping experience through accurate inventory counts, processing of damaged goods, and vendor returns.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as support to the Asset Protection Supervisor to maintain workflow and count processes.
  • Operate a forklift.
  • Work in tandem with all Inventory control team members to provide exceptional member shopping experience.
  • Conduct, organize, and validate inventory counts.
  • Sort damaged and RTV (Return to Vendor) items.
  • Reduce salvage.
  • Obtain return authorizations from vendors.
  • Re-wrap sellable merchandise.
  • Work cross-functionally within departments to complete related merchandise counts and inventory control responsibilities.
  • Carry out job functions and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Support the application of club policies, procedures, and compliance.

  • Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, service, and sanitation for members and team members.
  • Work with speed and accuracy to facilitate organized processes.
  • Accurately process damaged or defective merchandise by following appropriate salvage, donation, vendor return, reverse logistic, hazardous waste and destroy procedures.
  • Obtain return authorizations from vendors, process vendor chargebacks, and package and ship merchandise returns based on vendor return policies.
  • Work proactively with department teams to track, plan, coordinate and execute department inventory counts and control cycles as prescribed by Home Office within assigned deadlines.
  • Follow count processes and procedures.
  • Maintain the correct stock/inventory status for all damaged, defective, and returned merchandise.
  • Assess breakage logs associated with leaking, spoiled and broken merchandise and process merchandise out of inventory.
  • Process freezer and dairy damages.
  • Understand the company’s community/donation programs and administer salvage and donation merchandise orders.
  • Conduct daily club safety walks, escalate findings to Asset Control Inventory Supervisor.
  • Support the Inventory Control Count Team in executing count processing as assigned.
  • Review daily return reports, process merchandise recalls, and process tire and battery returns.
  • Ensure that the AFS and release dates are followed.
  • Ensure that the books are stocked and that the execution of book returns are completed in partnership with the RICS.
  • Process the 945/948/950’s in partnership with the AP Specialist.
  • Re-wrap sellable merchandise using appropriate seal and shrink-wrap packaging guidelines.
  • Ensure the department is organized and clean.
  • Follow established safety, filing organization, and lock-up standards.
  • Complete and maintain necessary training and annual safety re-certifications to effectively operate a forklift.
  • Maintain all club policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
  • Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

Requirements

  • Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • At least 18 years of age.
