About the Role

The Senior Financial Analyst, Revenue & Commercial Finance serves as the embedded finance partner for Sales, Marketing, and Commercial leadership, responsible for the revenue forecast, bookings and pipeline analytics, and key metrics for the recurring-revenue business. This role translates deal-level and pipeline information into forecasts, margin insights, and commentary for executive leadership to inform growth strategy, collaborating closely with the Sr. Director, FP&A on financial planning and investor reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a rolling view of new bookings, renewals, and expansion against plan.
  • Partner with Sales Operations on pipeline hygiene, stage-conversion rates, and coverage ratios by segment and rep.
  • Reconcile pipeline movement against current-quarter and next-quarter forecasts to identify revenue risks and opportunities.
  • Escalate material forecast gaps to the Sr. Director, FP&A.
  • Build and maintain the monthly revenue forecast model, incorporating bookings, implementation timing, contract escalators, and churn assumptions.
  • Own the actual-vs-forecast variance narrative for revenue, identifying root causes and presenting findings to leadership.
  • Support quarterly reforecasts and annual operating plans with revenue build-ups by product line, customer segment, and channel.
  • Track and report Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and Contracted ARR (CARR), maintaining the underlying contract-level data model.
  • Build cohort and logo-retention analyses for board and investor reporting.
  • Ensure consistency and audit-readiness of KPI definitions in partnership with the Sr. Director, FP&A.
  • Monitor recurring-revenue waterfalls (new, expansion, contraction, churn) month over month.
  • Support the Consumables program's pricing strategy with financial analysis, including margin impact, elasticity, and competitive positioning.
  • Quantify the revenue and margin impact of proposed pricing or contract-term changes.
  • Maintain visibility into consumables revenue and margin trends related to the installed automation base.
  • Act as the embedded finance representative in weekly pipeline and forecast reviews with Sales leadership.
  • Support commission calculations and payout accuracy in conjunction with Sales Ops/HR/Payroll.
  • Provide financial input on quota-setting, territory design, and comp plan design, modeling the impact of proposed changes.
  • Analyze marketing spend efficiency (CAC, payback period, funnel conversion) and partner with Marketing on ROI reporting.
  • Analyze gross margin by product line, customer segment, and contract type, identifying cost-to-serve drivers and margin erosion.
  • Partner with Operations and Product finance on cost inputs affecting deal-level and portfolio profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • MBA or CFA is a plus.
  • 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, commercial/sales finance, revenue accounting, or investment banking.
  • SaaS, subscription, or recurring-revenue business experience is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning or a comparable EPM/planning tool.
  • Comfort working with CRM data (Salesforce or similar) to translate pipeline detail into financial forecasts.
  • Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to translate financial concepts for Sales and Marketing stakeholders.
  • Ability to hold a credible point of view in cross-functional discussions.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with speed and precision in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and evolving reporting requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience preparing content for senior leadership or board-level audiences.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
