About the Role

We are seeking Casual Grassroots Scouts to identify players with potential for our Academy, operating in North, West, East, or South London/Kent. You will attend football matches, record player information in the club database, and provide feedback in weekly meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Operate as a key member of the Academy talent ID network.
  • Proactively identify and report on talented young players with Academy potential.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of players monitored in the database.
  • Build and cultivate knowledge of players in the selected phase at the club and beyond.
  • Act as a proud ambassador for the club, protecting its image and upholding its reputation.
  • Work within the PL/EFL Youth Development rules.
  • Attend CPD events relevant to Talent ID.
  • Ensure flexibility and availability to attend grassroots matches.
  • Abide by critical policies related to Safeguarding, Equality, and Health and Safety.

Requirements

  • Hold an FA Talent ID Level 2 and an FA Safeguarding Certificate.
  • Be naturally sensitive to the needs of young players, parents/guardians, and grassroots clubs.
  • Be confident in writing detailed reports and keeping databases up to date.
  • Possess a valid driving licence.
  • Be a personable and enthusiastic individual with a competitive work ethic.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work weekends and some evenings.
  • Uphold high standards of conduct to prevent abuse, including sexual, physical, or emotional harm.
  • Keep updated with both Club and FA Safeguarding training and education.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a DBS check and other essential background checks.
