About the Role

We are seeking Casual Grassroots Scouts to identify players with potential for our Academy's Foundation Phase (ages 9-11). You will attend football matches, record player information in the club database, and participate in weekly meetings to provide insights.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and report on talented young players for the Academy.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of monitored players.
  • Act as an ambassador for the club, upholding its image and reputation.
  • Work within PL/EFL Youth Development rules.
  • Attend relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events for Talent ID.
  • Ensure flexibility and availability to attend selected grassroots matches.
  • Adhere to policies related to Safeguarding, Equality, and Health and Safety.

Requirements

  • Hold an FA Talent ID Level 2 and an FA Safeguarding Certificate.
  • Possess an empathetic and supportive approach towards young players, parents, and clubs.
  • Demonstrate competent IT skills for report writing and database management.
  • Possess a valid driving licence.
  • Be a collaborative team player with a personable and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Exhibit a flexible mindset, willing to work weekends and some evenings.
  • Uphold high standards of conduct in a position of trust involving regular contact with children or vulnerable adults.
  • Keep updated with Club and FA Safeguarding training and education.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a DBS check and other essential background checks.
