We are seeking a highly curious and tenacious Investigator to examine failures, verify test validity, and deeply understand why tests fail. Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python, bash, and potentially Go for automation
- Experience with tools like teuthology
- Expertise with system internals (strace, lsof, /proc)
- Expertise with tracing technologies (eBPF)
- Expertise with general debugging (gdb)
- Ability to analyze system resources (load, iowait, zombie processes)
- Deep understanding and debugging experience with storage concepts (S3, HTTP errors, POSIX, ACLs, flock, etc.)
- Deep understanding and debugging experience with networking (tcpdump, wireshark)
- Familiarity with tools for breaking storage (fio, fsx, elbencho, xfs test suite)
- Understanding of distributed systems principles
- Reading ability in C/C++
