About the Role

We are looking for a Sessional Tutor Physical Sciences to join our team, particularly candidates with expertise in Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering-related subjects. The role involves contributing to the delivery of foundation and international year one level modules and supporting students from diverse educational backgrounds. You will provide stimulating, effective teaching to international students preparing for undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the delivery of foundation and international year one level modules.
  • Support students from diverse educational backgrounds.
  • Engage learners through effective, student-centred teaching.
  • Provide stimulating, effective teaching to international students preparing to study on undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes.
  • Plan, facilitate and review engaging learning experiences that enable all students to achieve and flourish.
  • Develop and continually enhance innovative learning materials that support active, inclusive and engaging learning.

Requirements

  • Experience of teaching post-16 students.
  • A recognised teaching qualification would be an advantage.
  • A student-centred approach.
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of international students in transition to studying Higher Education in the UK.
  • Demonstrable experience of using digital technologies, including AI, to enhance learning, assessment and student engagement.
  • Willingness to embrace innovation.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure (including children’s barred list) via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • For roles that include teaching or coaching, a Prohibition from Teaching Check will be completed through the Teaching Regulation Agency.
  • It is an offense to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
