About the Role

This newly created role will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Snowy's enterprise-wide Obligations and Policy Management processes. As the business grows in complexity and scale, you will serve as a core compliance framework owner, overseeing the mapping of regulatory obligations and ensuring that internal policies are robust, aligned, and complete.

Responsibilities

• Operate as the delegated compliance framework owner to monitor consistent application of frameworks and standards across the business.
• Oversee the central gathering of obligations, managing complex data delivered by external vendors, and building a version-controlled, central obligations and exemptions register.
• Manage the policy governance lifecycle with obligation owners, ensuring existing policies are current, complete, and fully aligned to mapped obligations.
• Proactively engage with peers and management across generation, wholesale, retail, and corporate functions to identify obligation ownership and support functions in designing compliant processes.
• Prepare compliance analysis and reporting for senior leaders and Board committees, whilst engaging with the implementation of a new standardised technology platform for risk and compliance data.

Requirements

• A compliance professional with deep experience in group or enterprise compliance roles.
• Experience within a highly scrutinised sector (such as banking or financial services) is highly valued.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in a legal, risk, compliance, or relevant governance function.
• Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory requirements.
• Energy sector experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Exceptional communication skills with a patient, proactive, and relationship-driven approach.
• Resilience to navigate complex accountability conversations and positively influence busy revenue-earning business units.
• Ability to work independently, manage complex workstreams, and comfortably deliver within an environment undergoing transformation and strong growth.
