About the Role
The Events & Facilities MAC Technician plays a key operational role within the Workplace Services team, ensuring the seamless day-to-day running of meeting rooms, event spaces, and operational tasks across the site. This role requires a proactive, hands-on attitude combined with a strong service mindset and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and break down meeting rooms and event spaces in line with booking requirements and client standards.
- Arrange furniture, AV equipment, and room configurations according to event briefs.
- Conduct pre- and post-event room inspections to ensure spaces are clean, presentable, and fully operational.
- Act as the on-site point of contact for the Events and Operations team during event setups.
- Liaise with catering, AV, and cleaning teams to coordinate smooth event delivery.
- Execute planned and ad-hoc desk moves, office relocations, and workplace reconfigurations.
- Transport and position small furniture items (chairs, tables, monitor stands) safely and efficiently.
- Support staff moves and onboarding by preparing workstations and ensuring equipment is in place.
- Maintain an accurate log of MAC activities and report completed tasks to the Senior Facilities Manager.
- Manage inbound and outbound mail, parcels, and deliveries in line with site procedures.
- Distribute incoming post and packages to the correct recipients or departments in a timely manner.
- Coordinate courier collections and maintain delivery records.
- Ensure the mailroom area is kept tidy and compliant with security requirements.
- Support the wider facilities team with ad-hoc operational requests and day-to-day workplace tasks.
- Carry out regular walkthroughs to identify maintenance or housekeeping issues and escalate as appropriate.
- Assist with contractor access, deliveries, and site compliance activities.
- Maintain a professional and helpful demeanour at all times when interacting with building occupants and clients.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a facilities, events operations, or workplace services environment preferred.
- Physically capable of moving and handling light furniture and equipment (with appropriate training).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with CAFM or facilities helpdesk systems is an advantage.
- Basic IT literacy; comfortable using email, scheduling tools, and task management systems.
