About the Role

Lead the Technology strategy, roadmap, vendor and commercial performance for the Freight Technology operations portfolio, in true partnership with the business. This strategic leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing the technology roadmap across a portfolio of products and their underlying systems within the Freight business domain, facilitating technology-enabled transformation and leading Technical operational specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Technology strategy, roadmap, vendor and commercial performance for the Freight Technology operations portfolio.
  • Shape and execute the technology roadmap across a portfolio of products and their underlying systems within the Freight business domain.
  • Facilitate technology-enabled transformation.
  • Lead Technical operational specialists ensuring alignment with long-term goals and the broader technology strategy.
  • Define, assess, and prioritise product strategies and delivery plans in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure Services products are secure, resilient, and meet service levels by design.
  • Rebuild and energise a team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement across cross-functional teams with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Lead the technology function for large-scale system implementations and emergent technology.
  • Support the ongoing management of Freight Operations Technology.

Requirements

  • 10+ years leading technology in large enterprise environments.
  • Experience leading deep complex systems, platform applications, migrations and modernisation implementations.
  • Comprehensive experience in Software Delivery Lifecycle and Digital / Technology transformation, and Technology Service Management.
  • Skilled at stakeholder management across business and technical areas.
  • Strong commercial and partner management skills.
  • Financially astute with emphasis on business results.
  • Proficient in negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Experience in coaching and modelling Agile mind-set and ways of working.
  • Strong ability to influence, motivate, and drive change & innovation.
  • Freight, Logistics, Transport domain experience preferred.
  • Experienced in software delivery, digital transformation, and service management.
  • Knowledgeable in resilience, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
  • Strong strategic problem-solving, people leadership, and Agile coaching abilities.
