About the Role
As a Platform & DevOps Engineer in a hybrid setup, you will own our cloud platform, primarily on Microsoft Azure. You will be responsible for designing, operating, and optimizing infrastructure with a focus on scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency, while also evolving our CI/CD platform and self-service tools to enable faster and more secure deployments for engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Own the design, operation, and evolution of our cloud infrastructure, from compute and networking to identity and governance.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, provide reusable modules, and automate manual processes.
- Automate deployments across the entire software lifecycle and build self-service platforms for engineering team autonomy.
- Continuously improve delivery processes and platform capabilities in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
- Monitor performance, availability, and stability, and proactively address infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Build security controls directly into the platform and CI/CD processes, including Azure security services, policies, and benchmarks.
- Optimize infrastructure and deployment platforms for scalability, performance, and cost.
- Build cloud cost monitoring, budgeting, and forecasting, and deliver recommendations for cost optimization.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure across compute, networking, storage, identity, and governance.
- Understanding of cloud architecture principles beyond Azure.
- Skilled with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines built and run in production using GitLab CI/CD or comparable tools.
- Automated configuration management.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/Nomad or Azure ACA/ACI.
- Solid scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Applied understanding of IAM, RBAC, Zero Trust, and Privileged Identity Management.
- Hands-on experience with GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or PCI DSS.
- Experience with cloud usage analysis, resource optimization, and cost-efficient architectures.
- Analytical, solution-oriented thinking.
- Ownership in a cross-functional environment.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent English.
- A healthy sense of humor.
