Responsibilities
- Review orders and documents for consistency between technical documentation, NC programs, work plans, and tool plans.
- Set up, convert, and process workstations based on order requirements and processing methods (e.g., turning, drilling, milling, grinding).
- Assemble and prepare tools and operating resources.
- Insert and position tools/systems into appropriate holders (magazines).
- Load or call up tool data and processing programs.
- Check cutting conditions, tool positions, and tool dimensions.
- Assemble, pre-assemble, and install/reconfigure clamping systems (e.g., clamping prisms, clamping irons) according to workpieces and processing requirements.
- Clamp workpieces into processing positions.
- Approach workpiece reference points.
- Monitor machining and measuring processes; select appropriate measuring tools and check calibration.
- Report quality deviations.
- Report system, workflow, and work environment disruptions, and record downtime.
- Perform physically demanding work under specific safety conditions (open machine environment, riding on the machine).
- Measure and set up on components at great heights.
- Assist in adhering to EHS standards and regulations.
- Document deviations and request countermeasures.
Requirements
- Three-year completed vocational training as a cutting machine mechanic or comparable training/experience.
- Very good German language skills, both written and spoken.
- Very good mathematics skills.
- Willingness to work shifts.
