About the Role
The CNN Ad Experience team is seeking a Product Designer II who understands the balance of business and user needs. This role will partner closely with product managers, engineers, designers, researchers, and data scientists to build the future of CNN’s digital products, focusing on a premium ad experience powered by first-party data and best-in-class UX.
Responsibilities
- Be an integral part of the product design team that is evolving CNN’s advertising products and footprints across desktop web, mobile web, mobile app, and video surfaces.
- Create user flows, mockups, and interactive prototypes to effectively conceptualize product features.
- Help drive user research sessions and usability tests to better understand our consumers.
- Create, contribute, and maintain components for our design system.
- Champion our design principles, design systems and product roadmap, and serve our editorial teams’ needs.
- Play a role in shaping the future of CNN's monetization by collaborating with stakeholders and team members to brainstorm, envision, and validate new ad products and footprints.
Requirements
- 2+ years as a product designer, ideally in ad tech, marketing tech, or growth design.
- Strong Figma experience, including with variables, components, styles, and shared libraries.
- A good track record of product thinking, helping teams understand and prioritize the problems they’re solving as part of the design effort.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in utilizing design system components to create scalable, delightful user experiences.
- Experience working on consumer-facing products within large-scale organizations.
- A demonstrated ability to manage design tasks and a strong record of working cross-functionally with other disciplines.
- Developing strengths in best practices of user experience design, including usability principles, user research methodology, testing techniques (A/B, Multi-Variant), design theory, and interaction design.
