About the Role
Zipline's SkillBridge program offers transitioning service members the opportunity to gain work experience through a 3-4 month internship. This role is specifically for active-duty U.S. military service members approved for the DoW SkillBridge program. As a Ground Systems Service Operations Electrician, you will build and maintain the electrical and network infrastructure supporting Zipline's delivery operations, ensuring field-installation quality, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and commission ground systems, ensuring quality control and issue resolution.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical/network faults and site issues.
- Perform maintenance and upgrades to maximize uptime and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to manage ticketing and documentation.
- Maintain inventory, tool accountability, and site installation records.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, electrical standards, and SOPs.
- Develop and update technical guides and installation standards.
- Maintain required certifications and a safety-first mindset.
Requirements
- Licensed Electrician or equivalent electrical trades background.
- Strong safety culture; experience following mechanical/electrical safety procedures.
- Competency in electrical/mechanical assembly and inventory management.
- Ability to perform shift work and work outdoors in all weather.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license; ability to lift 55+ lbs.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings.
- Experience with material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, scissor lift).
- Experience in HVAC, industrial networking, or manufacturing equipment maintenance.
- Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and solve time-sensitive, complex problems.
