About the Role

This role provides practical HR advice and coaching to employees and people leaders across Westpac, helping them navigate people policies, workplace frameworks, employee matters, and key HR calendar activities with confidence. You will coach people leaders through complex matters such as performance, conduct, absenteeism, flexible working, organizational change, and Health, Safety, and Wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical policy, workplace agreement, and HR advisory support to Westpac employees and people leaders through phone and digital channels.
  • Coach people leaders on complex individual and team matters, including performance, conduct, absenteeism, working arrangements, organizational change, and Health, Safety, and Wellbeing.
  • Support leaders and the business through organizational change activity, including people impacts, consultation support, employee queries, and practical guidance on change-related processes.
  • Escalate people matters to specialist People teams where appropriate, while ensuring employees and leaders receive a caring and seamless service experience.
  • Support business leaders and employees through HR calendar events, e.g., Remuneration Review.
  • Work with People Centres of Excellence and People Services to resolve queries, shape practical solutions, and provide timely advice to leaders and employees.
  • Identify and champion continuous improvements through process improvements and undertaking of defined tasks or projects.

Requirements

  • Extensive HR generalist experience providing advice on people policies and workplace frameworks within a large, fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated depth in applying policy to guide decision-making.
  • Ability to navigate complex people matters and tailor approach to different working styles and business needs.
  • Business and commercial acumen.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Customer-centric approach.
