About the Role
The Principal Product Manager is accountable for the success of the In-Flight solutions within the Flightscape portfolio, defining and owning the Product Vision and Strategy. This role ensures alignment between business objectives, customer needs, and priorities across multiple development teams operating within SAFe Agile Release Trains, providing leadership across the product community.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the overall Flightscape portfolio strategy through collaboration with product, portfolio, technology, and platform teams.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing product team by partnering closely with Product Marketing, Product Owners, UX, and Technology stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers and represent the organisation at industry events and customer forums within the Digital and Traveller Touchpoints domain.
- Analyse airline industry needs, challenges, and market trends to identify investment opportunities.
- Enable and support product discovery activities to validate assumptions and inform investment decisions before significant development, testing, maintenance, or hosting efforts are undertaken.
- Establish and maintain continuous internal and external feedback loops to help define product priorities, leveraging customer insights and production data where available.
- Guide product decisions and prioritisation activities to ensure alignment with the product vision and strategic objectives.
- Define and execute the product area strategy to maximise product adoption, customer value, and commercial success.
- Strengthen product platform capabilities and foundations to support scalable growth and integration with development services used by airline customers.
- Establish measurable business objectives and regularly review performance indicators to align product teams with the product vision and strategy.
- Manage a virtual profit and loss view with a focus on balancing revenue opportunities and cost considerations.
- Continuously improve team effectiveness, collaboration, ways of working, and time management practices.
- Support sales readiness initiatives in partnership with Product Marketing Managers.
- Support sales enablement activities in partnership with Customer Engagement teams.
- Participate actively in Programme Increment (PI) planning events and key SAFe ceremonies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Aviation, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Strategy, or related product leadership roles.
- 7+ years of experience in Airline catering operations
- Experience defining and executing product vision, strategy, roadmaps, and business objectives for complex software products or platforms.
- Experience working within Agile development environments, including SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks.
- Experience managing product portfolios and balancing customer needs, business priorities, and technical requirements.
- Experience using customer feedback, market research, analytics, and performance data to drive product decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to align multiple teams and stakeholders around a common product vision and strategy.
- Experience supporting product adoption, business growth, and commercial objectives.
