About the Role
As part of Group Compliance and Enterprise Risk, this role supports the APRA Portfolio Relationship team by providing regulatory advice and driving strategic initiatives with key stakeholders. This is a 12-month opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Provide prudential regulatory advice for allocated portfolios including RBS, Climate, Non-Traded Market Risk and Treasury.
- Manage APRA queries and information requests, providing subject matter expert advice.
- Champion CBA Regulatory Engagement Principles for improved regulatory engagement.
- Draft internal briefing notes for the Board/Board Committees and CEO.
- Monitor regulatory risk of information sharing by regulators.
- Ensure administrative actions are completed per CBA standards and team procedures.
- Draft content for regulatory reporting and internal briefing notes for senior management and the Board.
Requirements
- Experience with and knowledge of the Australian Regulatory environment within financial services.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactively identify, understand, openly discuss, and act on current and future risks.
- Experience interpreting APRA Prudential Standards, including CPS 230 Operational Resilience.
- Over 7 years of work experience in a regulatory affairs, compliance, or risk management role.
- Strong analytical, coordination, and issue management skills.
- Sound knowledge of APRA’s role and its powers.
- Strong service orientation and well-developed communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Advanced stakeholder management skills and ability to deal with a broad range of internal stakeholders.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills, including drafting clear, concise, and plain English documents.
