About the Role

This role owns TEG's brand, market positioning, and reputation across internal and external audiences, spanning internal communications, corporate and media relations, consumer PR, and issues management. The role ensures TEG communicates with a clear, consistent, and compelling voice and acts as a culture-builder by shaping how employees connect with and celebrate the business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and review an integrated internal and external communications strategy aligned with TEG's business objectives.
  • Build Strategic Business Narratives to engage key media and industry stakeholders.
  • Write, edit, and distribute media releases and statements.
  • Build and manage relationships with media and public opinion leaders.
  • Own the media contacts database and monitoring system.
  • Lead TEG's internal communications program with the People team, using storytelling, recognition, events, and campaigns to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Partner with PR, brand, marketing, and social teams to protect and elevate TEG's external brand image.
  • Ensure consistent tone, message, and identity across owned, earned, and social channels.
  • Identify and manage issues, develop holding positions and response plans.
  • Own the issues response plan and support the SLT in the event of an issue.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of communications experience, ideally with a mix of in-house and agency experience.
  • Outstanding writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Credibility to be a respected spokesperson and relationship builder.
  • Proven consumer PR experience.
  • Track record managing issues and working with external agencies.
  • Experience placing media releases through strong media relationships.
  • Experience building internal engagement and culture through channels, content, campaigns, and events.
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging government stakeholders.
  • Sharp analytical and organisational skills.
