About the Role
Westpac is undergoing significant transformation in its Risk division, with a focus on enhancing Credit Risk capabilities. This role is crucial for driving large-scale transformation across the Credit Risk portfolio, ensuring alignment, managing dependencies, and delivering outcomes with discipline and pace.
Responsibilities
- Lead Release Train planning, cadence, governance, and execution for predictable delivery outcomes.
- Coordinate complex cross-squad and cross-functional dependencies, identifying and resolving risks, issues, and impediments early.
- Drive disciplined delivery reporting, transparency, and escalation pathways across the transformation portfolio.
- Partner with Product, Technology, and Risk stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into achievable delivery plans.
- Coach and influence delivery teams, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to improve flow, delivery maturity, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives in complex, cross-functional environments.
- Deep expertise in agile delivery, program management, and release coordination.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders, and drive successful delivery outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience using delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Planview for planning, governance, reporting, and delivery transparency.
- Deep understanding of agile delivery practices, including release trains, program increment planning, backlog management, and continuous improvement in large-scale transformation settings.
- Outstanding communication skills for articulating delivery status, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders.
- Strong influencing and relationship-building capabilities to foster trust and alignment across Product, Technology, Risk, and delivery teams.
- Confidence to challenge constructively, address complex issues, and escalate risks proactively.
- A collaborative and outcome-focused approach, with the ability to lead through influence and foster high-performing teams.
- People-focused leadership with a passion for developing others.
- Ability to create an environment where individuals and teams thrive through coaching, support, and mentorship.
