About the Role

BJAK is building a Neobank Superapp for Southeast Asia. As a Technical Product Manager, you will own a product vertical end-to-end, from strategy and roadmap to technical design and delivery. This role involves managing products where real money moves, requiring strict attention to licensing, compliance, and third-party integrations. The company utilizes AI-native approaches, focusing on genuine outcome improvement while maintaining reliability, auditability, and trust.

Responsibilities

  • Own a vertical end-to-end, including outcomes, metrics, and a prioritized backlog.
  • Define acceptance criteria for development and testing.
  • Shape technical design with engineering, focusing on system boundaries, money-movement correctness, third-party rail behavior, failure paths, security, latency, scalability, and recovery.
  • Make and defend trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability, and user experience.
  • Incorporate regulated constraints such as licensing scope, CDD/KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, data residency, and privacy as first-class product inputs.
  • Apply AI where it enhances outcomes, defining its decision-making scope, human-in-the-loop requirements, evaluation methods, and fallback procedures.
  • Ship features behind flags and go live as external partners and regulatory gates clear.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance/Reconciliation teams.

Requirements

  • Significant experience owning a complex technical product end-to-end.
  • Strong judgment and decisiveness under ambiguity.
  • Ability to balance ambition with technical, regulatory, and operational realities.
  • Capability to engage effectively with senior engineers.
  • Solid system design understanding, including boundaries, datastores, queues/workflows, APIs, failure modes, and concurrency.
  • Comfort reviewing and challenging design documents.
  • Ability to sketch system architectures and sequences.
  • Technical proficiency allowing engineers to focus on implementation rather than simplification.
  • Experience in a regulated or high-consequence domain (e.g., payments, banking, remittance, insurance) or demonstrable ability to learn quickly.
  • Understanding of the unique aspects of money movement, prioritizing correctness over convenience.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM-based products.
  • Ability to frame features as evaluable (offline, online, human feedback).
  • Realistic understanding of AI limitations like hallucination, drift, and data gaps.
  • Knowledge of when AI should not be in the loop.
  • Strong English communication skills.
