About the Role
Ambrook's platform engineers build the foundational systems that enable the rest of the company to develop Ambrook more effectively. This role involves working across product infrastructure, including PostgreSQL databases and GCP environments, as well as company infrastructure such as internal tooling, data platforms, and systems powering internal AI workflows. The position combines strong infrastructure judgment with a product mindset, requiring close collaboration with dependent teams to iterate quickly and uphold quality, security, and scalability standards. A key focus will be building the infrastructure for Ambrook's agentic systems, creating shared frameworks and tools that allow teams to build and operate agents with confidence.
Responsibilities
- Work across product infrastructure, including PostgreSQL databases and GCP environments.
- Work across company infrastructure, including internal tooling, data platforms, and systems powering internal AI workflows.
- Learn from engineers and non-engineering teams who depend on the platform.
- Iterate quickly for platform users.
- Defend quality, security, and scalability standards.
- Build the infrastructure behind Ambrook's agentic systems.
- Create shared frameworks, evals, loops, harnesses, sandboxes, and interfaces for agent development and operation.
- Improve the experience of every employee and expand what the company can ship.
- Own a platform project from discovery through production rollout.
- Plan and execute production database or GCP changes with safe migration, validation, observability, and rollback practices.
- Ship a useful slice of Ambrook's internal agent infrastructure.
- Establish a tight feedback loop with internal platform customers.
- Expand shared agent infrastructure supporting internal workflows and customer-facing agentic features.
- Drive a platform roadmap informed by internal customer needs, codebase-wide opportunities, and Ambrook's standards.
- Deliver substantial improvements to Ambrook's database, cloud, data, or developer infrastructure.
- Raise the standard for infrastructure changes through clear design, careful migration planning, and production ownership.
Requirements
- Built and operated production platform or infrastructure systems.
- Hands-on experience in PostgreSQL and GCP.
- Planned and run migrations at scale, including validation, observability, and rollback strategies.
- Enjoy platform work and identify changes that improve the whole codebase, developer experience, or tooling.
- Treat engineers and non-engineering teams as platform customers.
- Build with empathy and iterate from real feedback.
- Move quickly while defending quality and scalability standards.
- Comfortable building interfaces and supporting product surfaces that make infrastructure useful.
- Security-minded and consider access, data handling, failure modes, and operational risk.
- Experience building infrastructure for agentic systems (bonus).
- Experience working directly on application security or infrastructure security (bonus).
- Experience building financial products or systems where auditability and data integrity matter (bonus).
