About the Role
SS&C GIDS provides information processing and computer software services and products. SS&C GIDS serves the alternative investments, asset and wealth management, banking and lending, insurance, and real estate industries.
Responsibilities
- Deployments using the existing CI/CD pipeline (Octopus Deploy, TeamCity, git/TFS, PowerShell and other tools)
- Lead automation efforts across the DevOps supported tools & Managed Services Platform
- Incident response for production hosted environments, conduct technical analysis and diagnose as well as correct, potential errors and faults in existing software systems and programs.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of application support engineers.
- Compile and update software program documentation, guidelines and operational manuals.
- Enforce support standards, and ensure best practices
- Completes documentation and procedures for support and maintenance as well as for end users.
- Manage technical risks and ensure system availability.
- May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
Requirements
- IT degree, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years experience working in an Application Support role
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices and methods
- Working knowledge of SDLC principles and methodologies
- Experience working with ITIL based processes
- Understanding of hosting production environments on AWS and Virtual Environments
- Advanced knowledge of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery build pipelines
- Experience working with infrastructure as code
- A passion for automating manual processes
- Keen to continuously improve & innovate
- Monitoring system and application performance and alerts
- Flexible working in shifts
