About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic lawyers looking for an alternative legal career path to join our Conflicts team. This is a varied and challenging opportunity that will allow you to use your legal skill set in a strategic, commercial setting and provide you with a unique insight into the firm's global clients and sectors.
Responsibilities
- Advising on the resolution of complex legal and commercial conflicts problems and liaising with Partners and staff in relation to conflicts issues and queries.
- Advising on confidentiality issues and the design, implementation and maintenance of effective information barriers.
- Ensuring compliance with global sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering obligations.
- Reviewing, drafting and advising on conflicts-related provisions in engagement letters, panel arrangements, outside counsel guidelines, RFP responses, firm policies and other client terms.
- Contributing to training, guidance notes and awareness initiatives for partners, lawyers and business services teams on conflicts, confidentiality, information barriers and other professional responsibility issues.
Requirements
- Admitted to practice as a Solicitor (in any area of law) in Australia or another jurisdiction in which HSF Kramer operates.
- 2+ years' post admission experience with excellent research, technical and analytical skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to adapt to competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- A desire to work outside of traditional private practice in an alternative legal career.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate collegiality within a team.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to provide clear, practical and frank advice.
- Is curious about new tech and open to learning, even better if you’re excited about AI!
