About the Role

The Cloud Platform Department provides end-to-end services for Rakuten Mobile’s virtualized infrastructure. Our Data Center E&O Team manages the full lifecycle of our data centers, from build and decommissioning to day-to-day operations and cost management. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage infrastructure supporting a large-scale commercial mobile network and collaborate with various teams to drive cloud and AI infrastructure excellence.

Responsibilities

Perform daily operations including service monitoring, incident management, maintenance coordination, change management, capacity planning, and vendor management.
Manage data center infrastructure design and procurement across Japan, ensuring alignment with project timelines and requirements for build and decommissioning projects.
Contribute to operational improvements, cost management, project support, and business planning based on experience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless infrastructure integration.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of data center facilities (racks, power, cooling, optical cabling, patch panels).
Experience using multiple data centers as a tenant, including access control and hands-on work within data halls.
Strong communication skills for effective coordination and negotiation with stakeholders.
Proven experience as a team member on IT infrastructure-related projects.
Approximately 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
Professional proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or above).
Business-level English proficiency.
