About the Role
Wells Fargo Digital Banking is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join The Digital Technology and Innovation group. This role involves applying coding practices to test-drive micro-services, designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting programs using Agile development practices, and championing the development and adoption of AI tools.
Responsibilities
- Apply Wells Fargo Digital Banking coding practices to test-drive the creation of micro-services with Java, JUnit, BDD, Spring, Restful services
- Design, code, test, debug, and document programs using Agile development practices
- Handle complex third-party library upgrades and quickly resolve dependency conflicts
- Champion the development and adoption of AI tools to accelerate automation
- Maintain broad knowledge of other technology engineering disciplines and collaborate with other key experts
- Translate advanced technology experience into technical engineering solutions
- Serve as an expert resource for architects in the development of target architectures
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies, and recommend innovations
- Provide expert counsel to senior technology leadership and advise and mentor others
- Represent Wells Fargo to external industry groups, influencing industry standards
- Work closely with application teams, infrastructure, release management and production support teams to maintain applications that are secure and highly scalable/available
- Plan, execute, and maintain road-map in alignment with Enterprise Security standards and in accordance to established business SLAs
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Requirements
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of Java web applications and Spring boot microservices development experience
- 3+ years of experience leading multiple implementations and supporting changes to production utilizing CI/CD tools such as GitActions , Harness and HyperExecute
- 5+ years of Java Web Services experience
- 5+ years of Spring experience
- 4+ years of experience developing and using RESTful Application Program Interface (API)
- 4+ year of experience in Kubernetes, OpenShift Container Platform
- 4+ years of Kafka/MQ Series Messaging experience
- 4+ year of experience with in-memory databases such as Redis, MongoDB, or Cassandra
- 5+ years of technical troubleshooting experience using monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana, Glassbox, Dynatrace, Splunk Observability Cloud etc
- 5+ years of demonstrated ability to work in inclusive, geographically distributed onshore/offshore teams
- 2+ years of experiences in Behavioral Driven Development
