About the Role
As a Field Property Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for assisting customers through the claims process after property damage. This role involves traveling to meet customers, assessing damage, and providing support, with each day offering new challenges and experiences.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and evaluate onsite to resolve complex coverage and damage issues, preparing complete estimates of repair.
- Inspect attics, crawl spaces, and potentially roofs by ladder for damage.
- Independently manage moderate to complex claims from initial report to closure.
- Work in the field daily, with occasional desk assignments.
- Explain loss coverage and assist policyholders with itemization of damages, emergency repairs, and additional living arrangements.
- Coordinate with vendor services such as contractors and cleaning services.
- Potentially assist with catastrophe duty.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of claims handling procedures and operations.
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Ability to independently manage workload and exhibit good judgment.
- Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer proficiency with multi-faceted systems.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of directly related experience.
- Ability to obtain proper licensing.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and organize your day.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of building construction principles.
